Jong FC Groningen heeft maandagavond in Heerenveen met 4-0 gewonnen van Jong Heerenveen/Emmen. Net als het eerste elftal wonnen ook de Beloften dit seizoen tweemaal van de Friezen. De ploeg van Erwin van de Looi staat na de overwinning op de zesde plek.
Onder de lat bij Groningen stond doelman Luciano da Silva, die een dag eerder in Eindhoven na een knieblessure zijn rentree maakte bij de eerste selectie. Vijf minuten voor de pauze kwam de FC op een 1-0 voorsprong door een doelpunt van Pepijn Kluin. Een minuut na de onderbreking verdubbelde aanvoerder Frank Olijve de score: 0-2.
In de slotfase voerde Jong FC Groningen de score nog verder op. Invaller Chevello de Rijp maakte vijf minuten voor tijd de 0-3 en vier minuten later bepaalde Robert Pomstra vanaf elf meter de eindstand op 0-4.
Komende maandag, 26 april, spelen de Beloften als nummer zes van de ranglijst tegen koploper Sparta Rotterdam. Dat is de voorlaatste wedstrijd van het seizoen en de laatste thuiswedstrijd op Sportpark Corpus den Hoorn.
