Jong FC Groningen is het nieuwe seizoen flitsend gestart. Na vier trainingen in het nieuwe seizoen won de ploeg van trainer Erwin van de Looi het eerste oefenduel vrijdag met 8-0 van Jong Sparta.
In de aanloop naar de nieuwe competitie speelt het team nog vier oefenduels en één toernooi. Op woensdag 22 juli om 14.30 uur wordt in Borgercompagnie gespeeld tegen Jong BV Veendam. Op dinsdag 28 juli om 15.00 uur is Jong AZ de tegenstander in Gasselte. Op zaterdag 1 augustus wordt om 19.00 uur afgetrapt bij Nederlands amateurkampioen WKE.
Op zaterdag 8 augustus nemen de Beloften deel aan het toernooi van Oliveo in Pijnacker. De oefenwedstrijd op woensdag 12 augustus bij Harkemase Boys is het laatste oefenduel en begint om 19.00 uur. Op maandag 17 augustus staat de bekerwedstrijd bij Jong Heerenveen/Emmen op het programma. Een week later begint de competitie met een uitwedstrijd tegen Jong PSV.
