Jong FC Groningen speelt vanavond, maandag 18.30 uur, de een oefenwedstrijd bij SC Cambuur. Het duel wordt gespeeld in het Cambuur Stadion door de ploeg van trainer Paul Raveneau.
Voor Jong FC Groningen begon de competitie vorige week met een nipte 1-0 zege op Jong Fortuna Sittard. Door de interlandperiode en het oneven aantal ploegen in de competitie is de volgende competitiewedstrijd pas weer op maandag 26 augustus. In de tussentijd zal er geoefend worden. Vanavond is SC Cambuur de tegenstander.
SC Cambuur heeft een Beloftenteam samen met FC Groningen en beschikt dus niet over een eigen ‘tweede elftal’. In de wedstrijd van vanavond zullen met name de reservespelers van Cambuur in actie komen die nog weinig speelminuten hebben gemaakt in het eerste elftal.
Bijzonder aan de wedstrijd is dat vijf dagen, op zaterdag 17 augustus, SC Cambuur in hetzelfde stadion aantreedt tegen het eerste elftal van FC Groningen. Jong FC Groningen gaat vanavond dus in Leeuwarden als het ware op verkenning bij de nummer 14 van de Eredivisie.
