Jong FC Groningen speelt vanvond, dinsdag 26 mei, een vriendschappelijke wedstrijd tegen Holwierde. Het duel wordt gespeeld bij De Pelikanen in Appingedam.
De wedstrijd is de laatste krachtmeting van het seizoen 2008/2009 voor het tea van Erwin van de Looi dat zich op 5 mei voor het derde achtereenvolgende seizoen handhaafde op het hoogste niveau.
Op donderdag 4 juni breekt voor het team de zomerstop aan. Op maandag 13 juli om 11.00 uur start de voltallige groep in het nieuwe seizoen. Zeven spelers beginnen het seizoen al drie weken eerder, op maandag 22 juni als ze zich melden bij het eerste elftal.
