Jørgen Strand Larsen maakte op de laatste dag van de afgelopen transferperiode een droomstap naar de Spaanse LaLiga. FC Groningen en RC Celta sloten een deal en dat leverde Strand Larsen een recordtransfer op naar Spanje. In de special ‘Strand Larsen; de Spaanse droom’ kijkt de Noor terug op zijn tijd bij FC Groningen en komen heel veel goals van de spits. De special werd eerder dit weekend uitgezonden op ESPN en is vanaf nu terug te kijken op YouTube.
Op de wedstrijddag van FC Groningen op bezoek bij Cambuur, gaat de gedachte weer terug naar het treffen van vorig seizoen. Jørgen Strand Larsen besliste in blessuretijd via een magistrale omhaal het duel en schoot de FC naar een 2-1 overwinning. Het was één van de 27 goals die de spits in het shirt van de FC maakte. Veel van die doelpunten komen nog een keer langs in de special: ‘Jørgen Strand Larsen, de Spaanse droom.’
De Noor werd twee jaar geleden opgepikt uit de competitie in zijn vaderland en groeide in Groningen uit tot gevaarlijke en gemakkelijk scorende spits. Het leverde de international veel interesse op uit het buitenland en resulteerde uiteindelijk in een droomtransfer naar een Europese topcompetitie. In de special vertelt Strand Larsen zowel over zijn periode in Groningen als de overstap naar Vigo.
De special over Jørgen Strand Larsen was eerder dit weekend te zien op ESPN en is vanaf heden terug te kijken op het YouTube-kanaal van FC Groningen.
