FC Groningen behaalde afgelopen seizoen een zevende plaats op de Eredivisieranglijst en pakte in totaal vijftig punten. Daarmee werd de ambitieuze sportieve doelstelling van de club gehaald. Het hoogste puntentotaal onder leiding van hoofdtrainer Danny Buijs. Buijs is sinds drie seizoenen hoofdtrainer in het betaalde voetbal. In de special ‘Danny Buijs: houd druk’ wordt onder andere met de hoofdpersoon zelf gekeken naar de persoonlijke ontwikkeling van de coach.
De pas 38-jarige Buijs heeft inmiddels meer dan honderd officiële wedstrijden langs de lijn gestaan bij de Trots van het Noorden. Hoofdtrainer zijn in het betaald voetbal is stressvol en tevens een ervaringsvak. De jonge coach kan zijn sterke punten benoemen, maar weet ook heel goed wat zijn valkuilen zijn. Met die persoonlijke ontwikkeling is het voetbaldier Buijs bijna dag en nacht bezig. Een portret over de ontwikkeling van Danny Buijs als hoofdtrainer bij FC Groningen.
