De KNVB-bekerwedstrijd FC Groningen – NEC wordt op donderdag 19 december gespeeld. Het duel in de achtste finales van het bekertoernooi begint om 18.45 uur in Euroborg.
De kaartverkoop voor het bekerduel start op vrijdag 22 november. Seizoenkaarthouders kunnen vanaf die datum tijdens de voorkeursperiode van een week hun eigen plek voor deze wedstrijd voor 6 euro reserveren. De vrije verkoop start een week later, op vrijdag 29 november. Losse kaarten kosten dan 10 euro per stuk. Groepen vanaf tien personen betalen 8 euro per kaart. De ticketprijs voor supporters van NEC in het gastenvak in Euroborg bedraagt 10 euro per kaart. Achtste finales FC Groningen heeft net als vorig jaar de achtste finales van het KNVB-bekertoernooi weten te bereiken. In de eerste twee bekerrondes werden achtereenvolgens de amateurs van AFC uit Amsterdam en VV Capelle uit Capelle aan de IJssel uitgeschakeld. Vorig jaar sneuvelde FC Groningen in de strijd om de nationale beker in december door een 3-0 thuisnederlaag tegen Ajax.
