De FC Groningen Voetbalschool start in januari met de derde cyclus trainingen. FC Groningen is dit seizoen begonnen met een open voetbalschool, toegankelijk voor alle jongens en meiden van 6 tot en met 14 jaar. Tijdens de serie trainingen wordt volgens de principes van de FC Groningen Opleiding gewerkt.
De cyclus bestaat uit zes trainingen en start afhankelijk van de locatie op vrijdag 21 of zondag 23 januari (onder voorbehoud van de dan geldende coronamaatregelen). De FC Groningen Voetbalschool is op vier locaties in stad en regio te vinden. Op vrijdagen wordt er getraind bij partnerverenigingen vv Zuidhorn en ACV Assen. Op zondagen zijn de trainers van de FC te vinden op de sportparken van GVAV-Rapiditas en vv Wildervank.
De FC Groningen Voetbalschool maakt voetballen bij FC Groningen mogelijk voor ieder kind in de regio. Het programma van de FC Groningen Voetbalschool is in lijn met het voetbalprogramma van ‘Trainen als een Prof’ waarbij ook de principes van Meer en Beter bewegen centraal staan. Daarbij worden bij de trainingen de leerlijnen die binnen de Opleiding van de club worden gehanteerd gebruikt. Die leerlijnen zijn ‘presteren als voetballer’ ‘bewegen als atleet’ en ‘leven als topsporter’. Per training komen diverse techniekvormen, motorische beweegvormen en nagebootste partijsituaties voor.
Met de nieuwe invulling van de FC Groningen Voetbalschool heeft FC Groningen het doel nog meer voetballende kinderen – jongens en meiden – beter te bereiken en te bedienen. Door meerdere cycli van trainingen aan te bieden, krijgt deze werkwijze een structurele vorm en wordt ingezet op voetbalontwikkeling in het gehele achterland. De Trots van het Noorden biedt met deze manier van werken meer kinderen de mogelijkheid kennis te maken met FC Groningen en zet haar specifieke voetbalkennis en de bijbehorende leerlijnen vanuit de Opleiding breder in. De FC Groningen Voetbalschool helpt de Eredivisionist daarnaast om een nog beter beeld te krijgen van al het voetbaltalent in de regio.
Alle voetballende jongens en meisjes van 6 tot 14 jaar krijgen via de FC Groningen Voetbalschool de mogelijkheid om wekelijks te trainen als een voetbalprof. Elke training wordt er getraind op een nieuw trainingsthema. Naast de trainingen ontvangen de deelnemers twee wedstrijdkaarten voor een thuisduel van FC Groningen, een officieel certificaat en exclusieve foto.
