Op het toernooi van LSC 1890 in Sneek heeft FC Groningen/Cambuur B1 de eerste plaats veroverd.
De nieuwe ploeg van trainer Peter Moltmaker speelde louter tegen A-junioren. In het eerste duel werd LAC Frisia eenvoudig opzij gezet. Gijs Jasper opende de score waarna Pier Veldman de klus klaarde met twee doelpunten. Ook de daaropvolgende wedstrijd werd eenvoudig gewonnen. Dankzij o.a. een treffer van nieuweling Joe Asasso bleek Achilles 1894 geen partij voor de Groningers. Tegen AFC moest FCG een achterstand ongedaan maken om tot winst te komen waarna gastheer LSC nipt met 1-0 te sterk was.
En dus kwam alles op het laatste duel aan. Het Haarlemse HFC had twee punten meer dan FC Groningen/Cambuur en enkel een zege zou voldoende zijn voor de toernooiwinst. Dat gebeurde uiteindelijk ook. Kasper Oldenburger werd matchwinner waardoor de beker in het bezit van de FC kwam. Bij de prijsuitreiking werd daarna ook nog bekend dat Keziah Veendorp speler van het toernooi was geworden.
