Ondanks de algehele afgelasting wordt er morgen op Corpus den Hoorn gewoon een competitiewedstrijd afgewerkt. FC Groningen/Cambuur B1 neemt het op tegen Ajax B1. De overige teams oefenen.
Sinds een aantal jaren heeft de eredivisie voor B-junioren een aparte regeling. Dat wil zeggen dat dit de enige divisie binnen de KNVB is die niet binnen een algehele afgelasting valt. Als er gespeeld kan worden, wordt er dus ook gespeeld. Aangezien de (kunstgras) velden er op Corpus den Hoorn prima bij liggen zullen FC Groningen/Cambuur B1 en Ajax B1 derhalve om de punten gaan strijden.
Beide teams kennen een wisselvallig seizoen en staan in de middenmoot. De ploeg van trainer Peter Moltmaker begon uitstekend, stond zelfs even aan kop van de ranglijst maar belandde daarna in een vrije val. In het laatste duel voor de winterstop werd op Skoatterwald echter knap van SC Heerenveen B1 gewonnen. Na een 3-1 achterstand zegevierden de Groningers uiteindelijk met 3-4. Niet geheel toevallig werd er in die wedstrijd veel gescoord. De FC incasseerde tot nu toe de meeste tegentreffers maar is na Feyenoord B1 ook de meest scorende ploeg van de eredivisie. Attractief zijn de wedstrijden dus zeker.
Het duel tegen Ajax B1 in Amsterdam werd eerder in het seizoen met 2-3 gewonnen. In die wedstrijd was Richairo Zivkovic goed voor twee doelpunten. Op Corpus den Hoorn hebben de Amsterdammers het de laatste jaren sowieso knap lastig. In 2008/2009 wonnen de B-junioren van de FC met 1-0 dankzij een treffer van Arjan Akkerman.
