Oluwafemi Ajilore is aanstaande zondag in Euroborg niet inzetbaar in het thuisduel met Willem II. De Nigeriaan raakte afgelopen zondag geblesseerd aan de hamstring. Michael de Leeuw liep op de vrijdagtraining een enkelblessure op. Zijn inzetbaarheid vormt een vraagteken.
Wat betreft de inzetbaarheid van spelers is ook positief nieuws te melden. Johan Kappelhof is weer inzetbaar. Hij speelde afgelopen woensdag een helft met Jong Oranje en heeft die test conditioneel goed doorstaan.
Ook Paco van Moorsel en Lorenzo Burnet – vorige week nog geblesseerd – zijn weer aangesloten bij de groep. Ze trainden vandaag (vrijdag – red.) beiden weer volop mee. De internationals Virgil van Dijk, Leandro Bacuna, Género Zeefuik en Tim Sparv hebben hun wedstrijd goed doorstaan. Sparv stond vrijdag voor het eerst deze week op het veld bij FC Groningen.
Na de training van zaterdagochtend op het TCN-trainingsveld zal trainer Robert Maaskant een definitieve keuze maken wat betreft de selectie van achttien spelers. Zondag begint FC Groningen – Willem II om 12.30 uur in Euroborg. De kassa’s openen om 11.00 uur maar er wordt sterk aangeraden om kaarten in de voorverkoop aan te schaffen om mogelijke wachttijd te beperken.
