Oluwafemi is door de Nigeriaanse bondscoach uitgenodigd voor het toernooi om de Afrikaanse landenbeker, dat in januari 2010 in Angola wordt gehouden.
Ajilore meldt zich op 27 december in eigen land en vertrekt twee dagen later met de nationale selectie naar een trainingskamp in Namibië. Nigeria plaatste zich als een van de zestien deelnemers voor de 25ste editie van het toernooi dat door de ploeg gewonnen werd in 1980 en 1994. Het land stond daarnaast viermaal in de finale (voor het laatst in 2000) en strandde nog eens zesmaal in de halve finales (waaronder in 2006).
Nigeria start het toernooi in Angola op dinsdag 12 januari tegen Egypte. Vier dagen later volgt de confrontatie met Benin. Op 20 januari wordt gespeeld tegen Mozambique. De nummers 1 en 2 plaatsen zich voor de kwartfinales op maandag 25 januari. Op donderdag 28 januari worden de halve finales gespeeld. De finale en troostfinale van het toernooi wordt gespeeld op zondag 31 januari.
