Afgelopen zondag heeft bij voetbalvereniging Hoogeveen de opening van het regionale voetbalcentrum FC Groningen plaatsgevonden. Ruim 140 spelertjes in de leeftijdscategorie van 6 tot 12 jaar hadden zich opgegeven voor de clinic ‘trainen als een prof’ en ondergingen in een circuitvorm allerlei verschillende trainingen. Dit alles onder leiding van FC Groningen-trainers, geassisteerd door jeugdtrainers van Hoogeveen.
Karakterologisch passen beide clubs goed bij elkaar, twee volksclubs die op zondag spelen: met historie, prestatiedrang, betrokkenheid en sfeer. Beide ook met gezonde ambities om ieder op hun niveau en in hun verzorgingsgebied zich verder door te ontwikkelen tot een club met aantrekkingskracht. De groen-witte Trots van het Noorden heeft haar beleid ten aanzien van het opleiden van de E- en F-pupillen aangepast. Vertrouwd Deze pupillen gaan met ingang van het nieuwe seizoen op zondagochtend naar een regionale voetbalschool, zodat ze zo lang mogelijk in hun eigen omgeving kunnen blijven voetballen. Het familie-aspect en het kunnen voetballen in een vertrouwde omgeving, waar FC Groningen voor kiest, past uitstekend bij de filosofie van de landskampioen bij de amateurs van 1978. Voordeel FC Groningen zal ook periodiek een voetbaldag bij v.v. Hoogeveen organiseren. Daarnaast is er ruimte voor trainers van v.v. Hoogeveen om stage te lopen bij de regionale voetbalschool van FC Groningen en stelt de BVO haar kennis en ervaring in het opleiden van jeugdspelers beschikbaar waarmee v.v. Hoogeveen haar voordeel kan doen. Beide clubs kijken uit naar deze nieuwe vorm van samenwerken en verwachten talentvolle voetballers hiermee nog meer te kunnen bieden. Beloond Zondag 21 juni was de officiële aftrap. Onder de vele kids een groot aantal Hoogeveen-pupillen. Een enorme belevenis voor al deze kinderen, die daarnaast ook nog eens op de foto gingen met de door FC Groningen gewonnen KNVB-beker. Voor al hun inspanningen werden de kinderen ook nog eens beloond met een fraai FC Groningen T-shirt, een mooie poster en foto’s van diverse FC Groningen spelers. (foto’s: Gerjo Stegeman).
