FC Groningen wil vanmiddag, dinsdag 7 juni, Ruben Yttergard Jenssen presenteren. De 28-jarige middenvelder is transfervrij en wordt vandaag medisch gekeurd in Groningen. Indien alles volgens plan verloopt, tekent de Noors international vanmiddag om 15.30 uur bij zijn perspresentatie een meerjarige overeenkomst in Euroborg.
Ruben Yttergard Jenssen is 37-voudig A-international en heeft 34 jeugdinterlands voor Noorwegen achter zijn naam staan. De Noor speelde in zijn geboorteland voor Tromsö IL en daarna bij 1. FC Kaiserslautern in totaal 275 wedstrijden in het betaalde voetbal.
Yttergard Jenssen kwam met Tromsö IL tot 16 Europese wedstrijden. In de afgelopen drie seizoenen voetbalde de Noor in de Duitse 2. Bundesliga in totaal 81 officiële wedstrijden voor 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Hij scoorde daarin 10 keer. Debuut De middenvelder maakte zijn debuut voor de nationale Noorse ploeg in de met 2-1 gewonnen oefeninterland tegen Montenegro, op 29 mei 2010 in het Ullevål Stadion van Oslo. Afgelopen zondag was Yttergard Jenssen – evenals FC-spits en landgenoot Alexander Sørloth – invaller bij het oefenduel van Noorwegen in Brussel tegen België.
Tijdens de perspresentatie dinsdagmiddag om 15.30 uur in de Essent Lounge van Euroborg zullen speler en club een nadere toelichting geven op de transfer.
