In deze aflevering van de nieuwe serie ‘Van Eigen Bodem’ kijken we samen met FC Groningen onder-16 spits Ruben Bloem naar zijn carrière. Ruben begon in de jeugd bij VV Zuidhorn en kwam via Be-Quick in de opleiding van FC Groningen.
De 15-jarige Ruben Bloem begon op 3-jarige leeftijd te voetballen bij VV Zuidhorn, toen hij 13 werd koos hij ervoor om bij Be-Quick te gaan voetballen om meer uitdaging voor zichzelf te creëren. Na een half jaar bij Be-Quick kreeg Ruben een uitnodiging voor een stage bij FC Groningen. Inmiddels zit Ruben een jaar bij FC Groningen en speelt als spits in de Onder-16 van trainer Björn Zwikker.
Ruben beschrijft zichzelf als een spits die sterk is voor de goal en kan goed scoren. Bij FC Groningen onder-16 voelt Ruben zich goed, hij werkt hard voor zijn ontwikkeling. Uiteindelijk hoopt hij zijn doel te behalen. “Mijn debuut maken in de Euroborg met het eerste team, daar werk ik elke dag voor.”
