FC Groningen neemt Stije Resink over van Almere City. De 21-jarige middenvelder tekent in Euroborg een contract voor vier seizoenen, tot medio 2028. Ondanks zijn jonge leeftijd heeft Resink al meer dan honderd wedstrijden in het betaald voetbal achter zijn naam staan. De middenvelder maakt vanaf maandag 2 september onderdeel uit van de eerste selectie van hoofdtrainer Dick Lukkien.
Stije Resink begon met voetballen bij de Amsterdamse amateurclub AFC IJburg, waarna hij in 2014 de overstap maakte naar de jeugdopleiding van Almere City. Resink debuteerde in januari 2021 in het uitduel met Jong AZ op 17-jarige leeftijd in het eerste elftal van de profclub uit Flevoland. In dat seizoen 2020/2021 speelde de middenvelder in totaal vijf wedstrijden in de Keuken Kampioen Divisie. Het jaar daarop waren dit er al twintig en in het seizoen van de promotie van Almere City (2022/2023) kwam Resink tot maar liefst 36 optredens in de KKD.
In het eerste Eredivisieseizoen in het bestaan van Almere City speelde Resink 32 duels op het hoogste niveau. In het huidige nog prille seizoen kwam Resink in alle drie de speelronden van de Eredivisie in actie, waarbij hij in zijn laatste wedstrijd voor Almere City aanvoerder van de ploeg was. Resink scoorde in het shirt van de Flevolanders vijf keer en gaf in totaal zes assists.
