Aanleiding en doel van het programma De helft van alle Nederlanders beweegt te weinig en ontwikkelt overgewicht. Hiermee zijn zij niet alleen gevoeliger voor een verlaagde weerstand, maar ook voor chronische ziekten zoals diabetes, hart- en vaatziekten, depressie en alzheimer. De kans op deze chronische ziekten kan aanzienlijk verminderd worden door middel van een gezonde leefstijl waarin meer bewegen, minder zitten en goede voeding centraal staan. Nederlanders blijken namelijk koploper zitten in Europa te zijn. Zo brengen Nederlanders van 4 jaar en ouder de dag gemiddeld 9 uur zittend door. Activiteiten die hier voor kinderen een grote bijdrage leveren aan dit hoge aantal zijn: zitten tijdens de les, huiswerk maken, gamen of tabletgebruik.
Om deze trend te doorbreken dienen basisschoolkinderen te worden gestimuleerd om meer en beter te bewegen. Hierbij is de breed motorische ontwikkeling van een kind de basis. Indien dit niet goed ontwikkeld is, zal het sporten en bewegen minder eenvoudig gaan en de kans op blessures stijgen. Daarnaast daalt de succes- en plezierervaring bij bewegen wat later de kans verkleind op een actieve en gezonde leefstijl.
Stichting FC Groningen in de Maatschappij ziet dit structurele probleem ook in haar verzorgingsgebied groeien en wil hier in samenwerking met partners en basisscholen graag structurele oplossingen voor bieden. Dit door middel van de inspirerende waarde van topsport kinderen binnen zes weken met plezier bewust te maken van de voordelen van een gezonde leefstijl en ze meer en beter te laten bewegen.
Hoe ziet het programma eruit? Elke week van het FC Groningen Scholentour programma staat in het teken van een speciaal thema. Het thema heeft direct te maken met een gezonde leefstijl en een beweegvaardigheid. De aankomende zes weken worden de gezondheidsthema’s behandeld door middel van een educatieve warming-up aan de start van elke beweeg les. Daarnaast zullen er tijdens de gymlessen beweegvormen worden geoefend, die ertoe leiden dat de breed motorische vaardigheden van de basisschoolkinderen worden versterkt. Door bewustwording en bewegen samen te brengen wil FC Groningen in samenwerking met basisscholen kinderen stimuleren tot een duurzame, gezonde en actieve leefstijl.
Alle beweeglessen van het FC Groningen Scholentour programma bestaan uit: * Educatief warming-up gedeelte met vragen over de gezondheidsthema’s; * Kernactiviteiten met verschillende differentiatiemogelijkheden in de sfeer van FC Groningen; * Een leuke afsluiting.
