Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur maakt het mogelijk dat kinderen en jongeren uit gezinnen met weinig geld, toch lid kunnen worden van een sportclub. Het fonds betaalt de contributie, of een deel daarvan, rechtstreeks aan de sportvereniging. Stichting FC Groningen in de Maatschappij vindt het van groot belang dat ieder kind kan meedoen met sport en steunt het Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur dan ook van harte.
Via FC Groningen kan het Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur een groot aantal mensen bereiken en daarmee kinderen helpen. Denk hierbij bijvoorbeeld aan de meer dan tweehonderd partnerverenigingen in het amateurvoetbal, die via de Trots van het Noorden zijn aangesloten bij het Amateurconvenant FC Groningen. Daarnaast zal het Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur bij diverse activiteiten van Stichting FC Groningen in de Maatschappij duidelijk zichtbaar zijn.
Ieder kind moet de mogelijkheid hebben om te kunnen sporten. Helaas is het niet voor ieder gezin mogelijk de sport van het kind te financieren. Het Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur is bestemd voor kinderen van 0 tot en met 17 jaar, die om financiële redenen geen lid kunnen zijn van een sportvereniging. FC Groningen heeft vanaf het seizoen 2018/2019 een samenwerkingsverband met het Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur.
Het Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur maakt het mogelijk dat kinderen en jongeren uit gezinnen met weinig geld, toch lid kunnen worden van een sportclub. Het fonds betaalt (een deel van) de contributie rechtstreeks aan de sportvereniging. Want meedoen geeft meer kansen.
Ouders kunnen overigens zelf geen aanvraag indienen bij het Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur. Aanvragen voor een bijdrage worden altijd gedaan door een intermediair, zoals een leerkracht, buurtsportcoach, sociaal wijkteam of schuldhulpverlener. Wanneer het Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur de aanvraag honoreert, krijgt het gezin een bevestigingsbrief thuisgestuurd en kan het kind worden aangemeld bij de sportvereniging.
