Hoofdtrainer Dick Lukkien moet steeds meer harde keuzes maken. Voor het thuisduel met FC Eindhoven heeft de technische staf van FC Groningen de beschikking over alle 29 selectiespelers, inclusief Nick Bakker. Welke wedstrijdgroep zich morgenavond in Euroborg mag melden, beslist Lukkien in de komende uren. De aftrap van FC Groningen – FC Eindhoven is om 20.00 uur. Voor competitiewedstrijd nummer 15 van de Trots van het Noorden zijn nog kaarten beschikbaar.
FC Groningen wil de opgaande lijn in het spel gaan omzetten in tastbare resultaten. De bovenliggende partij zijn in de Keuken Kampioen Divisie, helpt op de ranglijst alleen met drie punten. Dick Lukkien en zijn staf zijn er echter van overtuigd dat dit moment steeds dichterbij komt. “We spelen fris, energiek, met druk op de bal in hoge intensiteit en creëren kansen op een manier dat ons publiek graag ziet. Nu moeten we dat nog gaan koppelen aan winst, want dat is waar het uiteindelijk ook om draait.”
Volgens de hoofdtrainer van FC Groningen zal dit tegen de tegenstander van vrijdagavond geen eenvoudige opgave worden. “FC Eindhoven is een goed georganiseerde ploeg, die weinig goals tegen krijgt en met de snelheid voorop kunnen ze gevaarlijk zijn in de omschakeling, maar er liggen zeker ook kansen voor ons en daar gaan we voor!”
