FC Groningen won vrijdag in Oss met 2-0 van TOP Oss. Kevin van Veen maakte beide doelpunten voor de Trots van het Noorden. De spits kopte de FC vlak voor rust op voorsprong en verdubbelde de score halverwege de tweede helft. Een samenvatting van de wedstrijd is te zien op het YouTube-kanaal van FC Groningen.
FC Groningen werd in Oss gesteund door een uitverkocht uitvak met 450 fanatieke FC-supporters. Zij waren ruim 90 minuten lang te horen in het Frans Heesen Stadion in Oss.
Na het komende interlandweekend speelt FC Groningen twee keer in drie dagen in Euroborg. Op vrijdag 15 september thuis tegen ADO Den Haag. Maandag 18 september speelt de Trots van het Noorden in Euroborg tegen Jong PSV. Beide wedstrijden worden om 20.00 afgetrapt.
