FC Groningen speelt morgen (maandag 21 augustus) de uitwedstrijd tegen Jong FC Utrecht. Het duel wordt gespeeld in Stadion Galgenwaard en wordt afgetrapt om 20.00 uur. De Trots van het Noorden wordt in Utrecht gesteund door een uitverkocht uitvak met 400 FC-supporters. De supporters die in Groningen blijven kunnen het duel volgen via ESPN.
Trainer Dick Lukkien heeft de afgelopen week samen met staf en selectie goed kunnen trainen onder perfecte omstandigheden. De trainingen werden – mede vanwege de vakantietijd – ook deze week goed bezocht door veelal jonge supporters.
Verdediger Nordin Musampa keert terug van een schorsing en is inzetbaar. Aanvaller Florian Krüger trainde de afgelopen dagen weer mee met de groep en kan terugkeren in de wedstrijdselectie. “Het is erg leuk om te zien dat eigenlijk iedereen weer op het veld staat”, vertelt Lukkien. “Ook Nick Bakker gaat vandaag weer trainen. Hij is de enige die morgen nog geen rol kan hebben in Utrecht.”
Liefst 400 FC-supporters stappen maandagmiddag de bus in voor de uitwedstrijd in Utrecht. Daarmee is het uitvak voor deze eerste uitwedstrijd van het seizoen geheel uitverkocht. “Voor die mensen gaan we alles geven wat we hebben”, zegt Lukkien. “En voor onszelf ook omdat we die goede competitiestart een passend vervolg willen geven.”
