FC Groningen maakt zich op voor een reis naar Limburg. Zondagmiddag kruist de Trots van het Noorden de degens met de koploper van de Keuken Kampioen Divisie: Roda JC. De aftrap in het Parkstad Limburg Stadion is om 16.45 uur. In het kielzog van de ploeg volgen 568 FC-supporters de route naar Kerkrade. Voor supporters en andere liefhebbers die niet naar Limburg (kunnen) reizen is het uitduel met Roda JC live te volgen op ESPN of via het radioverslag op RTV Noord.
In de wedstrijdselectie van FC Groningen ontbreekt zondag in ieder geval Tika de Jonge, nadat de middenvelder vorige week zaterdag een blessure opliep in een wedstrijd met FC Groningen onder-21. Waarschijnlijk keren Thijmen Blokzijl en Fofin Turay terug in de groep. Het is nog de vraag of aanvoerder Leandro Bacuna voldoende wedstrijdfit is om een rol te kunnen spelen in Kerkrade.
