FC Groningen kent inmiddels de traditie om na een transferwindow een update te geven over de stand van zaken van dat moment bij de club. Daarom was er donderdag, 1 februari vanaf 19.00 uur, een nieuwe liveshow van ‘De deadline voorbij’ te zien via het YouTube-kanaal van de Trots van het Noorden. In de show keken algemeen directeur Wouter Gudde, manager Voetbal & Opleiding Art Langeler en hoofdtrainer Dick Lukkien terug op het transferwindow, dat in Nederland sluit op 1 februari om 23.59 uur. Het drietal heeft in ‘De deadline voorbij’ zoveel mogelijk actuele zaken besproken en vragen van supporters beantwoord.
FC Groningen zette in de eerste weken van 2024 de positieve reeks voort waarmee het de winterstop was ingegaan. Ondertussen nam de club afscheid van keeper Michael Verrips, die terugkeerde naar Fortuna Sittard, en werd verdediger Radinio Balker getransfereerd naar het Engelse Huddersfield Town. Inkomend werd Rui Mendes overgenomen van FC Emmen en de aanvaller heeft inmiddels zijn debuut gemaakt voor de Trots van het Noorden.
Supporters konden in aanloop naar de live Q&A vragen stellen. De presentatie was donderdagavond in handen van Damian Vos, technische ondersteuning wordt verzorgd door sponsorrelatie United Visions.
