FC Groningen won vrijdagavond met 4-1 van Jong Ajax. Voor de eerste competitiewedstrijd van het nieuwe seizoen werden liefst 20.502 kaarten verkocht. Beleef een prachtige avond FC Groningen nogmaals via de eerste aflevering van ‘Thuis’ de nieuwe contentserie van FC Groningen.
De voetbalavond begon al vroeg in de middag voor zowel spelers als supporters. De selectie kwam bijeen op het TopsportZorgCentrum voor een goede sportmaaltijd. Het grasteam maakte op dat moment het veld tiptop in orde terwijl de supporters op de Noordtribune een fantastische sfeeractie voorbereidden. Duizenden supporters hadden zich uren voor de aftrap verzameld op het supportersplein.
