FC Groningen kent ook dit seizoen weer de onvoorwaardelijke steun vanuit het achterland. Tot afgelopen weekend verlengden of bestelden 9.518 FC-supporters een seizoenkaart. Zij staan iedere thuiswedstrijd vol achter de ploeg in Euroborg. Support uit Stad en Ommeland. Verdedigers Radinio Balker en Marco Rente gingen afgelopen week de regio in om een aantal zeer loyale supporters te verrassen.
Voor nieuweling Rente was de tour direct een goede manier om de FC-supporters te leren kennen. Balker kende de onvoorwaardelijke support al van vorig seizoen toen de verdediger debuteerde voor de FC en zich ontwikkelde tot vaste basiskracht.
Beide FC’ers kwamen zeer loyale supporters thuis verrassen en dat leverde unieke beelden en verhalen op. De verdedigers spreken hun dank uit voor de support voor dit seizoen en komen niet met lege handen. Balker en Rente laten zich ook niet voor één gat vangen. Want als één van de supporters niet thuis blijkt te zijn, breken de verdedigers gewoon een vergadering in.
