Stichting FC Groningen in de Maatschappij hield gisteren – woensdag 1 november – in Euroborg het eerste Meer & Beter Bewegen Symposium. Bijna 250 gasten hadden zich vooraf aangemeld voor het symposium waar naast diverse interessante sprekers ook diverse sub-sessies werden aangeboden. Tijdens het Meer & Beter Bewegen Symposium presenteerde Stichting FC Groningen in de Maatschappij de ‘Beweegagenda FC Groningen in de Maatschappij’. Deze beweegagenda is onderaan dit bericht te downloaden.
De middag vol interessante gesprekken, ontmoetingen en workshops begon met een aftrap door dagvoorzitter Hans Slender samen met bestuursvoorzitter van Stichting FC Groningen in de Maatschappij Max van den Berg en ambassadeur van de stichting Arjen Robben. Zowel Van den Berg als Robben benadrukte het belang om jong te beginnen met voldoende bewegen.
Na de opening volgde een panelgesprek waaraan voormalig topsporter Daniëlle Bekkering, huidig directeur bij HANNN (Healthy Ageing Network Northern Netherlands), Bernard Wientjes lid van de Nederlandse Sportraad (NLsportraad), Johan Annema (programmamanager beweegalliantie) en Simon Cageling (manager maatschappelijke programma’s FC Groningen) deelnamen. Een open discussie over hoe bewegingsarmoede in Nederland aan te pakken. Belangrijke conclusie die werd getrokken was de absolute meerwaarde van de komst van een eventuele sportwet. Sport moet een hogere prioriteit krijgen op de politieke agenda.
De aanwezigen van het symposium hadden de mogelijkheid om te blijven staan, of zittend naar de personen op het podium te luisteren. Na 45 minuten was het voor iedereen tijd om de benen te strekken en in beweging te komen. Op verschillende plekken in het stadion werden sub-sessies georganiseerd.
Onder meer de Hanze Hogeschool (Motorische vaardigheden van het kind), de Vitaliteitscampus (Wijkgericht werken), Maatschappelijk hoofdpartner Univé (Betekenisvol ondernemen – Midden in de Maatschappij), Athletic Skills Mode (De Schijf van 10!) en de Universiteit van Utrecht (‘Impact gericht werken: strategie & beleid’) organiseerden een sessie. Deze interactieve sessies werkten inspirerend op de aanwezigen en bevorderden interessante gesprekken.
Het inspirerende Meer & Beter Bewegen Symposium werd gezamenlijk afgesloten met een lezing van Remo Mombarg, Lector Bewegingsonderwijs en Jeugdsport Hanze Hogeschool over ‘5 more years.’ Na het eindwoord en een prachtig gedicht van dichter Merijn Binnekamp over het belang van bewegen werd het gesprek in de zaal nog langdurig voortgezet door de aanwezigen tijdens het netwerkmoment. Naast een hardcopy van de ‘Beweegagenda FC Groningen in de Maatschappij’ kregen alle aanwezigen een Word Groter Bal mee om uit te delen.
Stichting FC Groningen in de Maatschappij dankt alle aanwezigen voor hun komst en hoopt dat het Meer & Beter Symposium bijdraagt aan het gesprek en de daaropvolgende acties om samen met elkaar het groeiende probleem van bewegingsarmoede in Noord-Nederland aan te pakken.
