Stichting FC Groningen in de Maatschappij organiseert samen met verschillende maatschappelijk partners van FC Groningen op woensdag 1 november het Meer & Beter Bewegen Symposium in Euroborg. In de inspirerende omgeving van de thuishaven van de Trots van het Noorden gaan bezoekers van 12.30 uur tot 17.00 uur met elkaar in gesprek over het belang van meer en beter bewegen en hoe de gezamenlijke strijd tegen bewegingsarmoede én het bieden van een beweegrijke toekomst nóg beter vorm te geven.
Euroborg staat op woensdag 1 november geheel in het teken van Meer & Beter Bewegen. Deskundigen, professionals en overige geïnteresseerden in gezondheid en beweging komen tijdens het Meer & Beter Bewegen Symposium samen om elkaar te inspireren en te informeren over de gezamenlijke ambitie om bewegingsarmoede tegen te gaan en een beweegrijke toekomst te realiseren. Tijdens deze middag biedt Stichting FC Groningen in de Maatschappij een inspirerend programma vol met sessies, panelgesprekken en sprekers. Daarnaast wordt de FC Groningen Beweegagenda gepresenteerd.
Er staan tijdens het Meer & Beter Bewegen Symposium verschillende interessante sprekers op het programma. Denk aan voormalig topvoetballer en ambassadeur van Stichting FC Groningen in de Maatschappij Arjen Robben, voormalig Commissaris van de Koning en bestuursvoorzitter van de stichting Max van den Berg en Remo Mombarg, Lector Bewegingsonderwijs en Jeugdsport Hanze Hogeschool.
Aan het panelgesprek nemen onder anderen voormalig topsporter Daniëlle Bekkering, huidig directeur bij HANNN (Healthy Ageing Network Northern Netherlands) en Bernard Wientjes deel, met name bekend van zijn voorzitterschap van werkgeverskoepel VNO-NCW (waar hij nog altijd lid is van het dagelijks bestuur) en lid van de Nederlandse Sportraad (NLsportraad).
Samen met vele partners zet Stichting FC Groningen in de Maatschappij mensen uit het verzorgingsgebied van de club aan tot Meer & Beter Bewegen. Het is de maatschappelijke missie van de Trots van het Noorden om bewegingsarmoede tegen te gaan en mensen van iedere leeftijd een beweegrijkere toekomst te bieden.
Bewegingsarmoede is een groot maatschappelijk probleem dat moet worden aangepakt en waar goede samenwerkingen voor nodig zijn om dit terug te dringen. De helft van alle Nederlanders beweegt te weinig en ontwikkelt overgewicht. Momenteel heeft één op de acht jongeren overgewicht en als deze ontwikkeling zich zo doorzet, is in 2040 maar liefst meer dan 65% van alle volwassenen te zwaar. In Noord-Nederland zijn deze cijfers zelfs nog iets hoger.
